Marlborough was awarded the masonry package for supply and fix of brickwork, blockwork and associated items, including provision of internal and external scaffolding, at the start of 2001. We joined a prestigious construction team including Main Contractor, Bovis Lend Lease, Structural Engineers, Roscoe Capita and Architects, Leach Rhodes Walker for our 24-week programme.

This £5 million scheme was the vision of Client, Peel Holdings, owners of the impressive 177,000m2 Trafford Centre, which overlooks the new development. The design of the new 119-bed hotel incorporated 110,000 Manchester Red brick facings, perfectly mirroring the style of its established neighbour and acting to expand and increase the overall impact of the Trafford Centre complex.

The Tulip Inn is now a popular part of the chain of quality hotels belonging to The Golden Tulip Group.
